SANTIAGO: A judge questioned the former dictator Gen. Augusto Pinochet on Saturday about the disappearances of dissidents while he was in power from 1973 to 1990, and later announced he would order medical tests on him before deciding how to proceed. Judge Juan Guzman said he cut short the number of questions for 88-year-old Pinochet to just six because ``I saw he was very tired. I saw his face much more congested that the last time I saw him,'' Mr. Guzman added. ``He answered all my questions directly.'' The legal process centres in the so-called ``Operation Condor,'' a joint plan developed in the 1970s by the dictatorships then ruling several South American nations to suppress dissent. AP
