Bid to set ablaze PDP activist

SRINAGAR, SEPT. 26. A ruling People's Democratic Party worker escaped with minor burn injuries when militants tried to set him ablaze in Anantnag district, police said today. Five militants including two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in Jammu and Kashmir since last evening. Security forces busted three hideouts of militants and recovered arms and ammunition.

Some militants forced their way into the house of PDP activist Ghulam Qadir Malla at Vail-Nagbal near Ashmuqam, dragged him out of the house and tried to set him ablaze in a heap of dry grass. He escaped with minor burn injuries.— PTI
