in Lalgudi

CHENNAI, SEPT. 26. Southwest monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu. Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over interior Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh, isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Karnataka and Rayalaseema and mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana. Lalgudi (Tiruchirapalli dt.) recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Tuticorin, Madurai and Mettupatti (Madurai dt.) 5 each.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
