TIRUPATI, SEPT. 26. The PCC spokesperson, G. Muddukrishnama Naidu, today held a review meeting with irrigation officials and identified the works sanctioned to the district under the Central Government's Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana (RSVY). The pilot project was given to Chittoor and Mahabubnagar districts to improve minor irrigation sources in rain-fed areas. Under the scheme, Rs.45 crores was sanctioned to the district to be distributed among the 15 constituencies. The Superintending Engineer, P. Krishnaiah, briefed Mr. Naidu on details like number of percolation tanks, supply channels and diversion canals to be improved, besides the new tanks to be built in the district. The D. Es, L. Rajendra Naidu (Puttur), V. Varma (Tirupati) were present.
