BANGALORE, SEPT. 26. A BMTC bus (route no. 251), two cars, and a sports utility vehicle were involved in a serial accident on C.V. Raman Avenue in Sadashivanagar Police Station limits on Sunday. At least six persons were injured, two of them seriously, in the accident. The accident took place at about 10 a.m. near J.N. Tata Auditorium on C.V. Raman Avenue. It is said that a car rammed a BMTC bus while trying to overtake. The driver of the bus lost control and hit another car. A sports utility vehicle rammed the bus leading to a pile up. The names of the injured were given as Ahmed, Raghuram, Geeta, and Gopalakrishna, who were travelling in the car. The driver and some passengers of the bus were injured. They were shifted to private hospitals. Those with minor injuries were treated as outpatients and discharged. The impact of the collisions was so fierce that the two cars and the SUV were severely damaged. The driver of the first car, which hit the BMTC bus, suffered serious injuries on his legs. The police and Fire Force personnel, who rushed to the scene, had a tough time extricating him and other car passengers. The BMTC bus was on its way to Laggere from Shivajinagar. Traffic came to a halt on the busy C.V. Raman Avenue as a large crowd gathered on the road.
