MADURAI, SEPT. 26. A minor girl was gang-raped at Meenakshi Nagar here on the night of September 22. In her complaint, the 13-year-old girl of Poolangulam alleged that Y. Fiaz Ahmed Sheriff, 45, of Pasupathi Nagar, and four others raped her in a house. Later, Fiaz took her to another house in the same locality and committed the offence again. They threatened her that they would kill her parents, if she reported the incident. Though the girl maintained silence for three days, she took ill last evening, and was rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital, where she had no other option but to disclose what had happened to her. The Standard III dropout was waiting for the bus at the integrated bus stand on September 21, when Fiaz, whom she knew while working as a housemaid at Meenakshi Nagar, took her home on the pretext of dropping her the next day. The Tallakulam police have registered a case.
