Missing sisters, abduction feared

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 26. Four sisters, aged between 14 and 19, who went missing under mysterious circumstances from Usmanpur in North-East Delhi on September 20, are suspected to have been abducted by two persons. Teams have been sent to different places to trace them.

While the police refused to divulge the names of two persons who are suspected to have abducted the sisters, they have registered a kidnapping case on the basis of the their father's statement.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. when the four sisters went out to buy some medicine for one of them, who had sustained injuries while doing embroidery. Though the exact reason behind their mysterious disappearance is not clear, their father raised the suspicion that two men could be involved in the incident.

The police said the missing girls' father was earlier a bandmaster and due to bad health and age he was unable to do anything for a living.

Two elder brothers of the sisters are married and stay with the family. Initial investigations indicated that the girls were not being treated well in their home.

They are also probing the possibility that the sisters fled away on their own. On the basis of tip-offs, the police have sent teams to Uttar Pradesh and far flung areas of the Capital in their search.

Man hangs himself

A 21-year-old newly married man allegedly hanged himself at Nandnagri in North-East Delhi today. Though no suicide note was found, the police suspect that he took this extreme step because of his differences with his in-laws.

The incident came to light when Monu Yadav's father returned home from his shop this afternoon to have lunch and found him hanging from the ceiling fan of his room. Enquiries revealed that Monu had got married around seven months ago but his in-laws were not allowing his wife to live with him for some reason.
