KOZHIKODE, SEPT. 27. Political organisations, NGOs and others have come out strongly against the on the missionaries at Olavanna on September 25. The Rural Development Minister, C.F. Thomas, in a statement here today condemned the attack. He described the incident as unfortunate, and a scar on a State such as Kerala where such happenings were unheard of. He said efforts were on by the police to nab the guilty. A team of women activists under the aegis of the district unit of the Kerala Stree Vedi of Anweshi, Nisa and M.P. Moideen Seva Mandir, which visited the colony, described the attack as dastardly, and demanded that the police nab the culprits immediately though the injured sisters had not filed a complaint.
`Pre-planned'
The team, which included K. Ajitha, V.P. Suhara, Kanchana Kottangal, Jhansi Jose, among others, said that from the modus operandi it was clear that the incident was pre-planned and calculated. The Kerala State Muslim Youth League said the attack had created a wound on the communal amity prevailing in Kerala. It described such attacks on those carrying out philanthropic activities as unpardonable. Nobody should take the law into their own hands, said the Youth League adding that it would fight such tendencies with the cooperation of the general public. See also Page 4
