PONDICHERRY, SEPT. 27. The Pondicherry State council of the National Federation of Indian Women has called upon the Administration here to constitute a women's commission. A release from the Federation's chairperson, B. Sarala, said here on Saturday that the activists of the federation would picket the offices of Municipalities and Commune panchayats if there was any delay on the part of the government in notifying the date of civic polls. The resolution adopted at the State council meeting of the federation urged that 33 per cent be earmarked for women in the legislative bodies.
