NAGERCOIL, SEPT.27. The police today arrested two persons and seized rectified sprit worth Rs.5 lakhs from a lorry. According to the police, a team during a vehicle check signalled to stop a lorry at Kalikkavilai when it was going to Thiruvananthapuram. As the driver ignored the signal, the team chased the lorry up to the Kerala border and impounded the vehicle. The team found 60 plastic cans with 2100 litres of rectified sprit. Besides seizing the vehicle, it arrested the driver and the cleaner of Tirunelveli district.
