KOTTAYAM, SEPT. 27. The police today announced the arrest of a key figure involved in the sexual abuse of a young girl who was allegedly caught in a sex racket. She was lured into the racket with offers of roles in television serials. According to the police, Omana, who has been arrested, is the victim's aunt (mother's sister) and was instrumental in luring the girl into the clutches of the sex racket. She would be produced before Court on Tuesday, the police said. Another person Suresh is already in police custody in connection with the case. According to the police, the girl must have been in the racket for nearly a year. They also fear that the girl was taken to different destinations, both inside and outside the State, for immoral activities. The issue came to light when she came back pregnant and delivered a child. The girl is still in hospital and is in a serious condition.
