KOCHI, SEPT. 27. Rain washed away two Group `A' matches in the State under-17 inter-district cricket championship here on Monday.

The match between Idukki and Kottayam ended without a ball being bowled at the Maharaja's Ground while Thiruvananthapuram scored 218 for six in the 44 overs that could be played against Alappuzha at the St. Paul's College Ground in Kalamassery.

All the four teams took a point each.

The scores: Thiruvananthapuram 218 for six in 44 overs (Amith 49, Aneez 47) v Alappuzha. — Our Principal Correspondent
