Mumbai University takes title
MUMBAI,
SEPT. 27.
Host Mumbai University regained the all-India inter-university squash title after a two-year gap, defeating holder Delhi University 3-0 in Monday's final at the Bombay Gymkhana glass-back courts. Bipin Batra, Vikas Jangra and Dhiraj Nagpal won their matches for the home side, which was champion from 2000 to 2002.
The results: Final: Mumbai Univ. bt Delhi Univ. 3-0 (Bipin Batra bt Prashant Paritosh 9-7, 9-2, 9-5; Vikas Jangra bt Karan Singh 9-0, 9-3, 9-4; Dhiraj Nagpal bt Akshat Gupta 9-5, 9-6, 9-7).
Third place play-off: Pune Univ. bt Calcutta Univ. 3-2.
