Big win for East Bengal
KOLKATA,
SEPT. 27.
Kingfisher East Bengal pulled off an emphatic 4-1 win over arch-rival Mohun Bagan in the semifinals of the inaugural Krishanu Dey Memorial junior (under-19) football league here on Monday. East Bengal will meet Officer's Choice Ever-Ready, which got past Mohammedan AC 1-0 in the other semifinal.
Ayan Chowdhury, who is the leading scorers' list in the tournament with four goals, added another two to his collection while Abhijit Goswami and Anupam Dutta completed the East Bengal tally. The only Mohun Bagan goal came from Achintya Akura.
In the other match, Ever-Ready went through on a 22nd minute strike by Ratan Das. — Our Sports Reporter
