CHENNAI, SEPT. 27. Showcasing of advanced facilities especially for research and development and industry interaction projects was the highlight of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Foundation Day celebrations held here on Sunday. Nearly 700 visitors, including industrialists, entrepreneurs, students and teachers of various colleges, technical institutes and senior higher secondary schools in and around Chennai, thronged the Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) campus, Taramani. N. Lakshmanan, director, SERC, spoke on the contribution made by the organisation to society. K.V. Rangaswami, senior executive vice-president, L&T- ECC division (Chennai), underscored the importance of industry-institute interaction and partnerships that would lead to national development.
