PONDICHERRY, SEPT. 28. Liquor shops in Pondicherry have been ordered to close on October 2, in view of Gandhi Jayanthi. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise, R. Anbalagan, said here today that all toddy, arrack and liquor shops and restaurants selling liquor had been ordered to close their units that day.
