Elected to IBA
MANGALORE: The Chairman of Karnataka Bank, Ananthakrishna, has been elected as Honorary Secretary of the Indian Banks' Association. According to a press release from the bank here on Tuesday, Ananthakrishna has served on the IBA in various capacities earlier. The release stated that after he became the Chairman of the bank, the Bank has been making headway on all areas of banking. The adoption of the core banking solution Finacle was one of the highlights of his service to the bank. Under his guidance, 232 branches out of 371 branches have been networked. With his thrust on technology-backed products and services, the bank has recently introduced Multicity Cheque facility (cheques payable at par) at 200 branches in 90 centres so as to ensure fast collection of cheques and speedy transfer of funds for its current account holders.
