Former Judge to conduct BCCI polls

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, SEPT. 28. The Madras High Court today appointed Justice R. Mohan, retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India, to conduct the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) elections, to be held in Kolkata on September 29 and 30.

Justice S. Ashok Kumar passed the order, after hearing a petition, which alleged that the outgoing leadership was trying to bring certain persons to the post with an ulterior motive.

The petitioner apprehended that the elections would not be free and fair if it was conducted under the supervision of the BCCI authorities.
