MYSORE, SEPT. 28. The fifth round of the Pulse Polio programme for 2004 will be held between October 10 and October 13. It is expected that more than 3.65 lakh children in the district will be covered under this phase. According to the Headquarters Assistant at the Deputy Commissioner's office, Palaiah, 1,574 Pulse Polio vaccination centres would be set up in the district. He also said that 45 lakh doses would be required to reach the target. In all, 294 vaccination centres would be set up in Mysore city. Mr. Palaiah said that medical students, anganwadi workers, paramedical staff attached to the Department of Health and Family Welfare and non-governmental organisations would participate in the Pulse Polio programme.
