ANANTAPUR, SEPT. 28. The Penukonda sub-division police arrested 11 persons accused in the murder of Telugu Desam ZPTC member of Somandepalli, Aswartha Narayana. The murder was committed on September 19 at Mandli village in the mandal. According to the police, a team led by the Penukonda DSP, A.S.C. Wesley, raided the village and arrested K. Hanumanthappa, N. Ramanjinappa, K. Chandrappa, B. Ramalingappa, V. Anandappa, C. Ramanjinappa, L. Narayanappa, L. Narasimhappa, L. Kistappa, N. Kadirappa and N. Sanjeevappa. Two country-made bombs, four hunting sickles and a pair of blood-stained clothes were also seized in the raid. The deceased was a close follower of the Penukonda legislator, Paritala Ravindra, and was an accused in a rape case.
