APSRTC's gesture
HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 28.
In a welcome gesture, management of APSRTC presented a cash award of Rs. 25,00 to M. Srinivasa Rao, Arjuna Award winner (physically challenged— badminton) at a simple function here on Tuesday.
Mr. P. Gautam Kumar, VC & MD of APSRTC, presented the cheque to Rao, who works as a mechanic in the RTC Karimnagar Depot, as a "token of appreciation for his grit and determination amidst adversity." He also promised a promotion to the sportsperson, who won the gold in the 2002 World Cup badminton championship for physically challenged.
Mr. T.P. Das, Director (Vigilance), APSRTC, who was also present lauded the efforts of Rao and hoped he would continue to inspire many of those physically challenged to bring laurels to the country.
