Regulated sand-mining from October 1

PATHANAMTHITTA, SEPT. 28. The District-Level Expert Committee (DLEC) on river bank protection and regulated sand-mining has decided to permit regulated sand-mining from the rivers in the district from October 1. The DLEC meeting chaired by the District Collector, Rabeendra Kumar Agarwal, maintained that the grama panchayats would issue permits for sand collection from various Kadavus in their respective jurisdiction.
