Indian Olympians to be honoured on Oct. 1

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 28. Pakistan will honour four Indian hockey Olympians during the fourth and final match of the current Test series in Lahore on October 1.

Shahid Pervez Bhandara, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Lahore match, said Aslam Sher Khan, B.P. Govinda, S.S. Sodhi and Ajit Pal Singh would be honoured for their contribution to the game.

``They will be presented bouquets on behalf of the Punjab Chief Minister, Ch Pervaiz Elahi, who will be the chief guest on the occasion,'' Bhandara was quoted as saying in the local media here.

India tied the four-Test series 1-1 after defeating the host 4-1 in the second tie at Quetta on Monday.

Bhandara said both teams on their arrival from Peshawar (venue of third match) on October 30 would be given a warm welcome.

He said the Lahore District Nazim, Mian Aamir Mahmood, would host a reception in honour of the two teams on October 1 at the Bagh-e-Jinnah.

``It is a historic event and we will stage it in a memorable way,'' he remarked. — PTI
