Council for senior citizens

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 28. A State level council has been formed for senior citizens with the Chief Secretary as chairman and the principal secretaries/secretaries/heads of Departments of various agencies to work for their welfare.

This is in line with the National Policy on Older Persons (NPOP) of the Union Government.

The council will be the nodal agency to implement the NPOP in the State.
