Shweta stretched by Grace Hannah

GURGAON, SEPT. 28. The third-seeded G.K. Shweta was stretched to three sets by J. Grace Hannah in the girls' first round of the Adidas ITF junior grade `IV' tennis tournament at the NTA Complex here on Tuesday. Shweta will be challenged by Shalini Sahoo in the pre-quarterfinals.

Her fellow trainee at the NTA, the eighth-seeded Poojashree Venkatesh, blanked lucky-loser Sayali Bhilare and will take on the talented Karina Ahuja in the second round.

In the girls' doubles pre-quarterfinals Shalini Sahoo and Shilpi Jaiswal gave a good account of themselves on the clay courts downing the fourth-seeded Oormila Ram and Ashmita Easwaramurthi 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in a marathon match.
