KOLKATA, SEPT. 28. Kingfisher East Bengal kept its reputation intact winning the inaugural Krishanu Dey Memorial junior (under-19) football league title here on Tuesday. East Bengal, which is the reigning National Football League champion in both the senior and junior categories, beat Officer's Choice Ever-Ready by two second-session goals in the final played at the Mohun Bagan ground. The first session of the action failed to produce any goal as both the teams tried to play safe. East Bengal wrested the initiative in the last quarter of the action getting winger Anupam Dey to score in the 73rd minute. With Ever-Ready unable to find the equaliser, East Bengal got its second goal in the 88th minute. Ayan Chowdhury of East Bengal became the highest scorer of the meet with a tally of six goals while Gautam Dey of Ever-Ready was declared the `best player of the tournament.' Our Sports Reporter
