MANGALORE, SEPT. 28. Sleuths attached to the Intelligence Wing of the Excise Department raided a house in Aditya Nagar at Urwa Stores on Monday and seized spurious liquor, equipment used in its manufacture, and a car used to transport it. The value of the total seizure has been estimated at Rs. 3 lakhs. No arrests have been made so far, according to the officials. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Govindappa, who supervised the raid, said the team confiscated 500 litres of spurious liquor, 525 litres of blended liquor stored in 15 cans of 35 litres capacity, 80 bottles of liquor, labels, empty bottles, nearly 5,000 corks, security labels, and other items from the house.
