CHENNAI, SEPT.28. The State Government has sanctioned Rs.2 lakhs for the renovation of the Agastheeswarar temple tank at Villivakkam. An official release said here that the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had ordered that the renovation be undertaken immediately. It would include painting the parapet wall, repair of the tank steps, removal of weeds and desilting. The water channels would be cleared to ensure free flow of rainwater into the tank, where a rainwater harvesting facility had already been installed, the release said.
