Tele-medicine link with Pakistan
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI,
SEPT. 28.
Three centres of the Apollo Hospitals group today established telemedicine links with Pakistan.
Apollo Hospitals Chennai, Delhi and Hyderabad today docked at the Lahore Medical Imaging Centre, Lahore, in the presence of Swapna Tiwari, Indian Deputy High Commissioner at Lahore, and Farooq Rasool, who heads the Centre.
Dr. Pratap C. Reddy, chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, greeted the doctors at Lahore and assured them of free tele-consultation for the rural poor.
The function was organised by the Apollo Telemedicine Network Foundation, a non-profit organisation of the hospital. More than 11,000 tele-consultations have been conducted so far and 83 per cent of the patients were treated locally, saving both time and money, according to T. Varghese George, director, ATNF.
