Respect court decisions: pensioners
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI,
SEPT. 28.
The Retired Officials Association of Coimbatore district has urged the State Government to respect the decisions of the Madras High Court and grant them the commuted amount and other arrears.
In letters to the Chief Minister, the Finance Minister and the Finance Secretary, the association said that the Government should abide by the decisions of the court and give them the amount due to them with interest.
In the two-page letter, a copy of which was made available to the press, the association president, N. Umathanu, said the court on April 27 this year ordered that the dues be given to the members of the association as per the government order 174 of April 21, 1998. But this was not followed, he said.
