Zee chairman lodges complaint against Dalmiya

MUMBAI, SEPT. 28. The chairman of Zee Telefilms Ltd, Subhash Chandra, has lodged a complaint with police here alleging that the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jagmohan Dalmiya, had "threatened him on telephone" in connection with the ongoing spat between Zee network and the Board over the telecast rights issue.

Mr. Chandra, through his secretary, lodged the complaint at the Cuffe Parade Police Station last night and the matter was being investigated, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Naval Bajaj, said.

``We have received Subhash Chandra's complaint through his secretary last night but we have not registered any case against anybody since we are probing the matter,'' Mr. Bajaj said.

Talking to mediapersons in Kolkata, Mr. Dalmiya expressed surprise at the police complaint and termed the charge as a ``the price one has to pay for being the BCCI chief.'' — PTI
