Kochi
By Our Staff Reporter
KOCHI, SEPT. 28. The Ernakulam District Residents' Association Apex Council (ERDAAC) has warned against a hike in toll for vehicles using the Mattancherry bridge. In a press release here today, the association secretary, A. Ajith Kumar, said that Kochiites had suffered a lot because of the heavy toll. An increase in toll will once again force people to organise agitations. He said that the Government should desist from buying electronic metres that are not standardised and do not fit in the requisite quality standards. All member associations of the ERDAAC have been asked to organise cleanliness drives in their areas on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi Day. A sub-committee has been entrusted with giving shape to a district-development plan. Recommendations from member associations should reach ERDAAC by October 15.
