MBT election meeting attacked

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 28. Mild tension prevailed when unidentified persons pelted stones during a meeting organised by the Majlis-Bachao-Tehreek (MBT) in Bazarghat on Tuesday night in connection with the Asifnagar by-election.

While the MBT leaders charged that Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen activists, led by Red Hills corporator, Noorjahan's husband, Qureshi, tried to disrupt the meeting, the latter refuted the allegations.

The Nampally police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the warring groups.
