Quarrel leads to youth's death

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 28. A group of Ganesh idol immersion revellers allegedly beat a youngster, G. Venkatesh, to death following a quarrel at Necklace road on Monday night.

None of the accused was identified so far, the Saifabad Inspector Suhas Chaturvedi, said. A resident of Vinobhanagar, the victim and his friends came in a DCM van to immerse Ganesh idol in Hussainsagar. However, a group of revelers picked up a quarrel with Venkatesh and allegedly attacked him following which he fell unconscious. His friends shifted him to the Gandhi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
