Directory of blood donors

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 28. Trivandrum Ladies Circle (TLC), a voluntary organisation engaged in community service, proposes to compile a directory of individuals with RH Negative blood group, who are also prepared to be voluntary blood donors. Those who are interested in including their names in the directory may contact the chairperson of TLC, Neena Joseph, over telephone: 3232055.

Network to be formed

The Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) and YMCA are joining hands to form a network of those with rare blood groups, to be named Rare group Emergency Donor (RED). Those with A-, B-, AB- and O- blood groups should contact YMCA (telehones: 2330059, 2339078).

Man killed

Two persons, both bus conductors of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, who were returning home after duty, were run down by a speeding car. One person was killed and the other was seriously wounded. The incident occurred in front of the Kaniyapuram KSRTC depot at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Divakaran Nair (51) of Divya Bhavan, Kudavoor, Thonnakkal was killed on the spot, while Bijukumar (28), also of Kudavoor, Thonnakkal, has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital.

One succumbs to injuries

Gopinathan Nair (66), a resident of Indira Nagar, Peroorkada, who had been knocked down by a motorbike, near Peroorkada, on Monday night, succumbed to his injuries in the early hours on Tuesday.

Office-bearers

K.G. Rajasekharan Nair has been elected as president, N.O. Kuruvilla as secretary and C. Suresh Babu as treasurer of Trivandrum Club for the year 2004-05.

Postponed

The inauguration of the renovated `A' operation theatre complex at the Medical College Hospital, which was to have been held on September 29, has been postponed owing to technical reasons, the Medical College Hospital Superintendent, N. Viswanathan, has said.
