Cuddalore, Pamban get 7 cm rain CHENNAI, SEPT. 29. Southwest monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep, at many places over Tamil Nadu and at a few places over south interior Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over north interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Pamban, Kovalam (Kanchipuram dt.) and Panchana Halli (Chickmagalur dt.) recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 cm each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms. are Karaikal, Thiruvarur and Ketty (Nilgiris dt.) 6 each. Mayiladuthurai (Nagapattinam dt.), Coimbatore Airport, Sulur (Coimbaore dt.) and Kollur (Udupi dt.) 5 each. Kodavasal (Thiruvarur dt.), Coonoor, Usilampatti (Madurai dt.), Kundha Bridge (Nilgiris dt.), Karkala (Udupi dt.), Kammardi and Kalasa (both Chickmagalur dt.) 4 each, Pondicherry Airport, Sathanur Dam (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Gudalur Bazaar (Nilgiris dt.), Chimdambaram (Cuddalore dt.), Tiruthuraipoondi (Thiruvarur dt.), Tirukoliur (Villupuram dt.), Tada (Nellore dt.), Kudulu (Kasargode dt.), Kundapura (Udupi dt.), Udupi, Jayapura and Balehonnur (both Chickmagalur dt.) and Agumbe 3 each.

FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north interior Karnataka. North coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
