Narendra claims AICC `support'
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 29.
The Union Minister of State for Rural Development, A. Narendra, has brushed aside the proof produced by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, D. Srinivas, on the combined preference of the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for the second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) for the formation of Telangana State.
Mr. Narendra told the electronic media here on Wednesday that the TRS would not take Mr. Srinivas seriously since it had a firm assurance on Statehood for Telangana from the AICC. He questioned the rationale behind Mr. Srinivas' act when there was no mention of second SRC in the Common Minimum Programme of the UPA Government, the President's address to the joint session of Parliament and the Prime Minister's reference to Telangana State at his first press conference.
