BANGALORE, SEPT. 29. Five members of a family attempted suicide on Tuesday in their house at Nagawara on the Ring Road. They have been admitted to a hospital and are said to be out of danger. The police said Kempe Gowda (45) and his wife, Ramananjamma (38), allegedly consumed poison on Tuesday night. Then they asked their daughters, Archana (18), a PUC student, Anupama (15), an SSLC student, and Divyashri (12), a 6th Standard student, to go to their relatives' house nearby. The girls, who found this strange, found a bottle of poison and realised that their parents had consumed it. They too allegedly consumed the poison left in the bottle. The neighbours found all the five struggling and shifted them to a hospital. Anupama and Archana had regained consciousness while their parents and Divyashri were still unconscious, the police said. However, all of them are said to be out of danger. They said Kempe Gowda, who owns a shop, was said to be in financial trouble after he started constructing a house. The K.G. Halli police have registered a case.
