BANGALORE, SEPT. 29. A large number of autorickshaw drivers and owners took out a procession from Chikkalalbagh to Banappa Circle on Wednesday. This caused traffic jam for close to an hour around Anandarao Circle and on Seshadri Road. The Autorickshaw Drivers' Union had demanded that the Government should stop issuing permits for new autorickshaws in the city. The union asked for more time for autorickshaws to be fitted with gas conversion kits and loans from financial institutions for buying the kits. There should be sufficient number of LPG filling stations in the city. The autorickshaw drivers want an end to "illegal transfer of permits".
