Teenagers criminally assaulted

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 29. In what appears to be a case of gang-rape, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly criminally assaulted by three men at Vasant Kunj in South-West Delhi on Tuesday night. Around the same time, a 14-year-old girl, who worked as a domestic help at Noida, was allegedly criminally assaulted by a man in Greater Kailash in South Delhi.

In the first case, the victim, who works in a factory, alleged that around 7-30 p.m. on Tuesday, her colleague named Lakshmi took her to plot at Vasant Kunj for a meeting with a person named Ravinder. There, she was overpowered by him and his accomplices, Jasbir and Shiv Kumar, who took turns to criminally assault her. The victim alleged that the security guard of the plot, identified as Shompal (50), also helped the accused while they were forcing themselves on her.

It is learnt that on the basis of the complaint, the Vasant Kunj police have registered a rape case and arrested Ravinder, Jasbir and Shiv Kumar. While their interrogation was on till late tonight, the police suspected that someone in the victim's family could also be involved in the case.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly criminally assaulted by a person known to her as Girdhar, whom she had met in a placement agency where she had gone to apply for a job. She told the police that she recently got the job of a domestic help in a Noida house through the placement agency but was not satisfied with it. Hence, she asked Girdhar to help her get another job. Girdhar, who had been working as a driver for a man living in Greater Kailash Part-I for the past over three years, took her to his quarter and allegedly criminally assaulted her on Tuesday night.
