This Day That Age
The Central Committee for the newly instituted State awards for films announced its recommendations on October 1. In feature films "Shyamchi Ai" (Marathi) produced by Atre Pictures has been recommended for the President's Medal. "Do Bigha Zamin" (Hindi) produced by Bimal Roy Productions and "Bhagwan Shri Krishna Chaitanya" (Bengali) produced by Debaki Bose Productions have been recommended for certificates of merit. In documentaries, "Mahabalipuram" has been recommended for the President's medal and "Holi Himalayas" and "Tree of Wealth" have been recommended for Certificates of Merit. All the three are produced by the Films Division of the Government of India. In the case of children's films, the Committee has recommended the award of a Certificate of Merit to "Khela Ghar" (Bengali) produced by Aurora Films.
