KOCHI, OCT. 1. A 137-run first-wicket stand between captain K.X. Manoj (78) and wicketkeeper Jigar D. Shah (62) along with left-arm spinner Arun Raj's miserly five-wicket haul helped Ernakulam thrash Idukki by 105 runs in the Central Zone under-22 inter-district cricket championship.
The scores: Ernakulam 231 for six in 45 overs (K.X. Manoj 78, Jigar D. Shah 62, K.J. Rakesh 45, V.S. Shiju three for 56) bt Idukki 126 in 30.3 overs (Ashik Shahul 48, Arun Raj five for 8).
