ISLAMABAD, OCT. 2. Pakistan is cooperating with the U.N. nuclear watchdog in its efforts to eliminate the nuclear black market, but will not allow it to quiz the disgraced top Pakistani scientist A. Q. Khan, officials said on Saturday. ``Pakistan had extended cooperation to the International Atomic Energy Agency and would continue to do so. However, access to a Pakistani scientist was not possible,'' a Foreign Ministry statement said. This week, the IAEA Director-General, Mohamed ElBaradei, told the British Broadcasting Corp. in an interview that the agency had not been allowed by Pakistan to interview Mr. Khan, the father of Pakistan's nuclear programme. Pakistan detained Mr. Khan and some of his close aides last year after it emerged that they had sold nuclear technology to Iran, North Korea and Libya. The Government denied any official involvement.
