Three killed in two accidents

HASSAN, OCT. 2. Three persons were killed and seven were injured in two separate accidents on National Highway-48 over the last 24 hours.

Sreenivas (30) and Narasimha (24), software engineers at Tejas Networks in Bangalore, were killed when the Tempo Trax van they were travelling in collided with a lorry near Hombalekopplu of Channarayapatna taluk in the early hours of Saturday.

According to the police, the tempo trax was coming to Hassan and the passengers were going to Kudremukh. The driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed the lorry. While Sreenivas died on the spot, Narasimha died on the way to the hospital. Shivaprasad Dharmarao, Chandan Dora, Paras Jain and the driver of the van have been admitted to Channarayapatna hospital.

Nagarathna (40), resident of R.T. Nagar in Bangalore was killed, when the car she was travelling in collided with a private bus near Byadarahalli in Hirisave hobli of Channarayapatna taluk on Saturday.

According to the police, the car, coming from Bangalore, collided with a private bus going to Bangalore. The driver of the vehicle whose identity is not known, has been seriously injured and admitted to a hospital, police said.
