THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 2. The RSP State secretary, T.J. Chandrachoodan, has said that there was a clear pattern in the attacks on minorities and their institutions in the State in the recent weeks. In a statement here today, Prof. Chandrachoodan said the murder of Father Job Chittilappally, the attack on nuns of the Missionaries of Charity at Olavanna and the gutting of the altar of the St. Thomas church in the capital city showed that these were all executed according to a plan hatched somewhere. Prof. Chandrachoodan, who visited the church, called upon the Government to take urgent action to nab the culprits behind all these actions.
Government flayed
Our Staff Reporter writes from Kozhikode: The CPI Legislative Party leader, K.P. Rajendran, and the Deputy Leader, Binoy Viswam, have alleged that the Oommen Chandy Government is following a soft Hindutva policy. In a statement here today, they said that Mr. Chandy was acting in a manner that would outsmart the former Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, in befriending the Sangh Parivar. The State Government's stance in the cases of killing of a priest in Thrissur, the attack on the missionaries in Kozhikode and the vandalism at a church in Thiruvananthapuram was helping the RSS, they alleged. The CPI leaders also said that the Chief Minister had advised the RSS to go ahead with the strategy to link the pathetic conditions at the Mampuzhakkad Methal colony and the attack on the missionaries.
