THRISSUR, OCT. 2. The Forest Minister, K.P. Viswanathan, has said that a new project to conserve the wild elephants by maintaining them in their natural habitats in forests is being worked out in the State. Inaugurating the State level Wildlife Week celebrations at the Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, today, Mr. Viswanathan said the details of this `Project elephant' are being worked out by the Forest Department. He said bird sanctuaries will be started in five places in the State. The second tiger sanctuary will be started at Parambikkulam soon. The Minister reminded the Forest officials to arrange the Wild Life Week programmes with the participation of the people. P P George MLA presided.
