NEW DELHI, OCT. 3. Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and long jumper Anju Bobby George led a bunch of present and former sportspersons in the celebrity run here at the Nehru Stadium on Sunday. The run was organised to create awareness among children about the marathon in particular and long distance running in general. Olympian Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, Paramjeet Singh and Syed Kirmani were the other prominent sportspersons who took part in the run, conducted alongside the 13th IAAF World half marathon championships. Flying Sikh Milkha Singh was among those scheduled to take part, but he preferred to watch the main event from the spectators' gallery. At the end of the women's championship race, thousands participated in `The Great Delhi Run' organised by the Delhi Government.
