Another win for Annamalai

VIRUDHUNAGAR, OCT. 3. Annamalai University and Dr. GRD College `A', Coimbatore will clash for the title in the last match of the semifinal round robin league in the 11th annual Dr. Lysander Memorial Trophy State-level inter-collegiate basketball tournament here.

They registered their second win in the league on Sunday.

The defending champion, American College Higher Secondary School `A', Madurai and Gokulnatha Higher Secondary School, Salem entered the final of the schools tournament.

The results:

Collegiate League: Annamalai University 67 (Roshan 14, Dinesh 12) bt Dr. GRD College `B', Coimbatore 13; Dr. GRD College `A' 67 (Solomon 20, Ullas 10) bt Gandhigram Rural Institute 36 (Prakash Maran 13, Jeyachandran 10).

Schools (Semifinals): American College HSS `A' 49 (Sudhakaran 13, Dayanithi 10) bt St. Michael HSS, Coimbatore 38 (Akilan 19, Gunasekar 10); Gokulnatha HSS 65 (Anbukumar 18, Parthiban 17, Vinodh 10) bt St. Xavier `s HSS, Palayamkottai 57 (Vennimal 26, Paul 10).
