CHENNAI, OCT. 3. The depression formed over southeast Bay of Bengal yesterday is moving northwestwards. It lay centred about 500 km northeast of Chennai this morning. As there are prospects of the depression intensifying, a few places in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry are likely to experience rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours, according to the Meteorological department. It may cross the Andhra Pradesh coast by tomorrow afternoon promising widespread rain for the region. Chennai did not record significant rainfall between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. today.
