Jaipal Reddy calls for political justice

HYDERABAD,
OCT. 3.
The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, S. Jaipal Reddy, on Sunday called for the strengthening of struggles for political justice to the weaker sections to "frustrate communal elements."
Addressing the 90th birthday celebrations of Konda Lakshman Bapuji, a veteran of movements for the weaker sections, here, Mr. Reddy said there was an indirect fight between the rich and the poor for the latter to secure political justice.
Weavers and Dalits
Mr. Reddy praised Mr. Konda Lakshman for bettering the lot of weaker sections, including Dalits and handloom weavers during his 70-year public life. He said the Centre had reduced the excise duty on inputs but that had only helped the powerloom sector. He conceded that more needed to be done for weavers.
